NADCA Code of Ethics

Certified by the National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA)

At Clean as a Whistle, we are proud to be members of the National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA). In fact, we are one of only two air duct cleaning companies in New Jersey to hold all three NADCA certifications (ASCS, CVI, and VSMR). If you want professional air duct cleaning from a local company that you can trust, look no further. You can trust our air duct cleaning technicians to do the job right.
As members of NADCA, we adhere to the NADCA Code of Ethics. This can be viewed on the NADCA website, and we also have the code listed below, for your convenience. If you air duct cleaning company is not certified by NADCA, you should ask them why.

Code of Ethics
  • We will serve our customers with integrity and competence.
  • We will perform our work using source removal methods.In order to eliminate or prevent the delivery of airborne pollutants into indoor air spaces through HVAC ductwork, we will remove the dust and others contaminants from the system. Thus, we pledge to administer source removal methods, cleaning the system ductwork as thoroughly as possible, before applying any coatings or treatments, including deodorizers, disinfectants, and/or sealants.
  • We will be honest and forthright in our advertising.
  • We will provide our clients with accurate inspections and evaluations of the cleanliness and physical condition of their HVAC systems,using this information to determine the type of cleaning and maintenance services required, if any.
  • We will provide only necessary and desired services to our clients, and will not use furnace/air duct cleaning as a means of selling unnecessary or unwanted products or services.
  • We will provide services only after completing the necessary bonding and licensing procedures.
  • We will utilize the services and products of those who possess specialized skills, tools, or trades not possessed by us when circumstances call for work to be done which we are unable to perform.
  • We will stay abreast of new developments in technology, tools of the trade, building codes, the Uniform Mechanical Code, and any other codes or information that directly affects our work.
  • We will require that all employees of our firm practice furnace/air duct cleaning in accordance with NADCA Guidelines and the Code of Ethics.
  • We will perform our services in accordance with the current published standards of the Association. If I will be unable to clean in accordance with NADCA standards, I agree to disclose this limitation to my customers at the point of sale, in advance of any cleaning.


Brian Murray began his career in the Food Service Industry since 1972. After graduating high school, Mr. Murray worked as a short order cook in Morristown, NJ. In 1974 at the age of 19 Brian purchased his own luncheonette in Morris Plains, NJ. After increasing the gross sales and customer counts he profitably sold the business and attended Johnson and Wales College, Culinary Arts Division, in Providence, RI.
To complete his education and gain further experience Brian enlisted in the United States Navy. He graduated first in his class at Navy cook school and was assigned with the Admiral of the United States Sixth Fleet in the Mediterranean. He served as the Admiral’s personal chef preparing meals for various dignitaries, including the Prince of Monaco and Lord Mountbatten.

After his four year tour of duty Brian was honorably discharged and gained employment with Saga Corp., a Food Service Management company, where he was the Food Service Director for two AT&T dining facilities. For three years Brian was employed with Service Dynamics Corp. Here Brian first worked as an Account Executive selling Corporate Food Service Accounts and then as an Operations Director for the food services in fourteen school districts. It was in this capacity that he noticed it was hard to get good companies to clean the Kitchen Exhaust Systems and decided to start a company providing that service. Providet Service Associates was founded in June of 1989. It quickly grew adding Air Systems Cleaning, Hospital Vent Cleaning and Residential Air Systems Cleaning to the Services it provides.

His service to the community includes a number of years working with the Boy Scouts of America from committee member to Scoutmaster. Currently Brian serves on the Board of Trustees for Koinonia Academy, a Private Catholic School in Plainfield, NJ and is a leader in the People of Hope a Catholic Association of the Faithful. Brian and his wife Teresa have twelve children.
